Your IELTS Indicator test uses a Safe Exam Browser (SEB), which can be installed and run on a Windows PC or MacOS.

The following operating systems are compatible with the Safe Exam Browser:

You will need to download and install a Safe Exam Browser (SEB) to conduct your Listening, Reading and Writing test, and you will need to download Zoom for your Speaking test. You will be sent instructions via email about how you can download and install these applications, before your IELTS Indicator test.

Hardware

The Safe Exam Browser (SEB) will occupy a small amount of hard disk space on your PC or Mac. Please ensure you have sufficient free hard disk space to enable the installation to proceed.

Minecraft Computer System Requirements

• Windows PC: 500 MB of free disk space required
• Mac: 500 MB of free disk space required

You will need the following to complete all parts of your IELTS Indicator test:

• Speakers
• Microphone
• Camera on and uncovered for duration of the test

Administrator Privileges

You must have Administrator Privileges on your computer to install the SEB. You cannot install it as standard user. Administrator Privileges is also required to start, restart or close the SEB in the event of interruptions to the service.

Web browsers

Internet/network

An internet connection is required to download the Secure Exam Browser (SEB) and take the IELTS Indicator Test. The minimum and recommended internet requirements are below:

What is Requirements based Testing?

Stages in Requirements based Testing:

• Defining Test Completion Criteria - Testing is completed only when all the functional and non-functional testing is complete.

• Design Test Cases - A Test case has five parameters namely the initial state or precondition, data setup, the inputs, expected outcomes and actual outcomes.

• Execute Tests - Execute the test cases against the system under test and document the results.

• Verify Test Results - Verify if the expected and actual results match each other.

• Verify Test Coverage - Verify if the tests cover both functional and non-functional aspects of the requirement.

• Track and Manage Defects - Any defects detected during the testing process goes through the defect life cycle and are tracked to resolution. Defect Statistics are maintained which will give us the overall status of the project.

Requirements Testing process:

• Testing must be carried out in a timely manner.

• Testing process should add value to the software life cycle, hence it needs to be effective.
